Becoming Care is a body of work grounded in a simple question:
What does it mean to receive care that is dignified, intentional, and whole?
This work began with a personal experience as a patient—an encounter that made visible how care is not only clinical, but structural. It raised questions about how care is delivered, how it is experienced, and how dignity is upheld within systems designed to support it.
Becoming Care does not treat care as something assumed or automatic.
It understands care as practice—shaped by training, systems, attention, and human interaction.
This work recognizes the expertise, commitment, and demands placed on those who provide care. At the same time, it asks how care can be carried out in ways that consistently support dignity, clarity, and presence for those receiving it.
Care is not only what is given.
It is how it is practiced, how it is experienced, and how it is carried forward over time.
Becoming Care™ emerged as a response to that experience.
